Final 2035 MTP/SCS and EIR Adopted by AMBAG Board of Directors
The Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments (AMBAG) Board of Directors voted June 11, 2014 to approve the
Final 2035 Metropolitan Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy (MTP/SCS) and 2035 MTP/SCS and RTPs for Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz Counties Final Environmental Impact Report (EIR).

Final 2035 MTP/SCS and EIR are Available

The Final 2035 Metropolitan Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy (MTP/SCS) and 2035 MTP/SCS and RTPs for Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz Counties Final Environmental Impact Report (EIR) are available and are scheduled to be adopted at the June 11, 2014 AMBAG Board of Directors meeting.

AMBAG Board of Directors Releases Draft EIR for Public Comment

Marina, California – February 12, 2014 – The AMBAG Board of Directors released the 2035 MTP/SCS and RTPs for Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz Counties Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for public comment at its meeting on February 12, 2014. The public comment period closes on April 8, 2014 for the EIR.

Third Round of Workshops to be Held in March 2014

Marina, California – February 13, 2014 –It is projected that by the year 2035, the Monterey Bay area will have885,000 residents, 300,000 homes, and 375,000 jobs. To accommodate thisgrowth, the Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments (AMBAG) hasundertaken a regional effort to discuss our quality of life, what ourregion will look like in 2035, and how we should prioritizetransportation investments. AMBAG has prepared the Draft 2035 Moving Forward Monterey Bay Plan after two rounds of community workshops. A third series of collaborative community workshopsin March will be held to present and solicit feedback on the DraftPlan, which provides for $7.5 billion in transportation investmentsthroughout the region.

Planning for Regional Growth Strategy Moves Forward with Second Round of Public Workshops

Marina, California - June 14, 2013 – The Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments (AMBAG) will be conducting a second series of collaborative community workshops throughout the month of July to continue theplanning process for accommodating future regional growth. These workshops will examine how the region should prioritize future transportation improvements within our limited resources. The goal forthese workshops is to gather community input that will help develop a plan that best reflects the region’s preferences and vision for the region in the year 2035. Continue reading

Notice of Preparation (NOP) filed for an Environmental Impact Report (EIR)

AMBAGwill be the lead agency in partnership with San Benito County Governments (SBtCOG), the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission (SCCRTC), and the Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC), who are responsible parties, for the preparation of an Environmental Impact Report for the 2014 Metropolitan Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy (MTP/SCS). SBtCOG, SCCRTC, and TAMC are the lead agencies for the development of the 2014 Regional Transportation Plan for San Benito County, 2014 Regional Transportation Plan for Santa Cruz County, and 2014 Regional Transportation Plan for Monterey County.
